AI has become one of the hottest internet trends lately. From chatbots to AI creating lifelike images from just a few descriptions, many people have started using AI in their daily lives. But this new tech has also led to some funny and heartbreaking stories.

Specifically, a gamer in China was scammed out of a large sum after meeting an AI-generated “girl” through a game. After exchanging a few flirty messages and feeling a connection, he asked for her phone number and chat ID to get closer. When things got serious, he requested photos of her.
Of course, he received a bunch of images sent through messages. Thinking he had found a beautiful girl, the gamer started trying to win her over. At first, they just chatted about daily life before bed. Gradually, he developed feelings and was ready to fulfill any request from his “dream girl.”

Then the “girl” confided that she was going through tough times, with her parents drowning in debt back home. She asked the gamer to lend her money, and he didn’t hesitate to send funds. But after the money was transferred, she suddenly disappeared.
Unable to reach her, the gamer grew suspicious. When he showed her photos to a friend, they realized the images were AI-generated and the girl wasn’t real at all. In the end, blinded by love and naivety, the gamer had to painfully watch his money vanish into thin air.
