Recently, a surprising story stirred up the gaming community in China. A female player of the game Three Kingdoms revealed she lost a valuable in-game item. She believes the system automatically confiscated her gear after she stopped playing.

What’s notable is that this gamer is a VIP customer of the game. Over three years, she spent around 300,000 yuan (over 1 billion VND) on the game. The item she lost was worth 40,000 yuan (nearly 140 million VND).

Naturally, she requested the item back, but the game’s customer service said they could neither return nor exchange it. Usually, all player items and assets get deleted if a game shuts down. In this case, the player has no choice but to accept the total loss.

However, the player pointed out that Three Kingdoms is still running normally, but the operators have offered no compensation or even a proper explanation. The community believes player rights shouldn’t be erased at will. The operators need to respect their players and find solutions that customers accept when changing their business strategies.

Additionally, in-game assets are considered virtual property protected under various national laws. Because of this, the gamer says she will “fight to the end” to reclaim her rights and property.
