Overcoming Insecurities to Shine on Stage
Today, Khánh An is a talented MC full of energy and positivity. But looking back, she was once a shy girl who lacked confidence and only dared to watch others shine from behind the scenes. She spent two long years wearing braces to build her confidence, and her path to becoming a host wasn’t smooth like others. She faced many rejections after auditions and casting calls, often feeling disappointed.
“I was once cut from 10 hosting gigs because after watching the recordings, I thought my face didn’t look good on camera. If you notice, I’ve never hosted on the Academy’s main stage,” Khánh An shared.
But she didn’t let those setbacks stop her from chasing her passion. Khánh An stays optimistic, always looking forward to a brighter future. For her, it’s best to treat past disappointments as history and focus on how to handle what’s coming next. The past can’t be changed, but the future is still open.
“Don’t feel insecure or pressured by others’ shining moments. I’ve had my share of failures and sad stories that the spotlight never showed. I keep moving forward, even if I don’t know where my steps will lead.
Your future, and mine too, will bring tears and smiles because life balances out luck in different ways,” Khánh An opened up.

Khánh An sees optimism as her guiding light to keep pushing herself every day.
Breaking out of her comfort zone, Khánh An finally found her spotlight. Her success is the result of hard work. From her freshman year, she worked at a media company to gain experience. She also taught MC skills classes for aspiring hosts, inspiring many young people to rediscover their passion for hosting. On top of that, she actively joined MC and live stage competitions to sharpen her skills.
Constant effort is Khánh An’s motto. She believes that even if she wasn’t born with a natural gift for speaking or perfect skills, dedication and hard work are the keys to success. When alone, she practices monologues to improve her reflexes and public speaking. She’s also a member of the Academy’s prestigious MC club.

Khánh An firmly believes that perseverance leads to success.
When asked if she could go back in time, what would she change about herself, she immediately said she wouldn’t change a thing, not even the joys or sorrows. Every past event shaped who she is today.
“I’m proud of the Khánh An I am now. What matters is striving to become a better version of myself and making those who love and support me proud,” the young MC said.
The Journey to Hosting at SEA Games 31
When Khánh An got the invitation to host the live Mobile Legends: Bang Bang matches at SEA Games 31, she was overwhelmed with emotions: excited and happy but also nervous. She was thrilled to stand on such a big stage for a major event but worried if she could deliver well.
In the end, she was confident thanks to the experience she had built up. Her preparation for SEA Games 31 was a whirlwind, with just two days to get ready for wardrobe, makeup, and hair.

SEA Games 31 gave Khánh An many unforgettable memories. One funny story was how Filipino fans immediately searched for her info after her first hosting day.
“The caster and coach of the Philippines team taught me to say ‘Mahal Kita, Hadji’ (Hadji is a popular player in the Philippines). At first, they said it meant Hadji is handsome, so I repeated it warmly. Later, I saw a video shared by Coach Bon Chan of the Philippines and realized it actually means ‘I love you.’
That video brought me thousands of new followers and comments from Mobile Legends fans. Those international friendships and memories are really special,” Khánh An recalled.
