Both titles are key events where Vietnam hopes to win gold medals at this Southeast Asian sports festival hosted on home turf. It’s no surprise that these games have drawn a lot of attention from the gaming community and sponsors alike.
According to recent buzz online, the PUBG Mobile team will be sponsored by Samsung. Shared images reveal that the “Samsung Galaxy A Series proudly serves as the official sponsor for PUBG Mobile at the 2022 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31).” It’s still unclear which Galaxy A model will be the official device used during the competition.
On the Free Fire side, the ASUS ROG Phone 5s, the latest gaming smartphone from ASUS, has been confirmed as the official device for Free Fire at the Yomost VFL Spring 2022 and SEA Games 31. This surprised many gamers since the ROG Phone 5s is considered one of the most powerful gaming phones on the market right now.
Since Free Fire doesn’t require super high-end specs, many see using the ROG Phone 5s as “using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.” Meanwhile, PUBG Mobile is known for its demanding graphics, which has some gamers worried about the choice of device.
One gamer commented, “It’s most likely the Galaxy A53. Looking at Samsung’s marketing campaign, it’s clear they’re promoting the A53’s gaming capabilities, so it’s probably the device sponsoring the tournament.” Hopefully, whether it’s the ROG Phone 5s or whichever Galaxy A model, both Free Fire and PUBG Mobile will bring home gold for Vietnam’s esports scene at this SEA Games.
