A man and his fiancée were at London’s Heathrow Airport on August 11, ready to fly to Rome for their wedding. Just before the plane took off, the woman pretended to go to the restroom and vanished with all their luggage and $6,000 in cash.
According to a witness at the airport, the couple had only recently met but decided to get married in Rome: “The man was clearly upset. It seemed they hadn’t known each other long, but he had strong feelings for her. Since he didn’t know if she had left the airport or flown to another country, he had to call the police. He wasn’t even sure if the name he knew for his fiancée was real.”
The London Police have taken the report. A spokesperson said that after being notified about a person losing all their belongings and cash, officers were sent to the check-in area at Heathrow Airport.
So far, police have not identified or located the woman.
