On the evening of October 4th, many Facebook accounts in Vietnam experienced a widespread outage. According to reports from users, both the Facebook.com website and the Facebook app failed to load news feeds. Meanwhile, the Messenger app was unable to send or receive messages.
The outage also severely affected Instagram, where users couldn’t load posts, view stories, or perform any actions on the platform.
According to Downdetector, a popular outage tracking site, users worldwide reported issues with Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. Facebook was hit the hardest with over 81% of reports, all occurring around 10 PM Vietnam time.
Many users worry their accounts might be locked or under review since repeated login attempts fail. Rest assured, Facebook’s team is working to fix these issues as soon as possible.
