Even though modern society is more open-minded, openly using adult toys or sharing sensitive content online still sparks heated debates.
Recently, a young woman caught the internet’s attention by boldly sharing her liberal views on sexuality. What made it even more controversial was netizens quickly digging up her past: she was once arrested and prosecuted for distributing obscene materials. This case highlights the fine line between personal freedom and legal boundaries.
The past of a social media figure caught distributing obscene content
To understand the current uproar, we need to rewind to a case that once shook public opinion. According to official info from the Hue City Police Investigation Department (Thua Thien – Hue), they prosecuted and detained a woman born in 1996, residing in Hue City, for distributing obscene materials.
Police investigations revealed her actions were more than a personal hobby, they were commercialized and widespread. From May to July 2021, she produced 54 explicit videos and 76 pornographic photos. Some were even shot near the iconic Truong Tien Bridge, a cultural symbol of the ancient capital, which deeply upset local residents. She posted this content on private internet platforms, charging membership fees and illegally earning up to 140 million VND.
The case ended with a fitting sentence, serving as a stern warning to anyone trying to profit from adult content illegally online.
The recent buzz: When an ex reappears with bold signals
After serving her sentence, many expected her to live more privately. But recently, on new social platforms like Threads, netizens spotted daring photos believed to be hers.
She openly posted images wearing short, tight outfits and even short clips showing her provocatively using adult toys next to a motorbike at night.

This post quickly gained massive engagement, accompanied by cryptic comments from netizens:
“Posted on the wrong app, OP…”
“Wife burning the midnight oil early!”
“You know what you’re doing…”
The mix of her seductive look and sexual hints instantly became a magnet for mixed reactions. Some praised her boldness, while others shook their heads, saying she’s back to old habits.

The thin line between sexual freedom and obscene content
Her story reflects a group of people today who have a very open attitude toward sexuality and don’t hesitate to express their personality, preferences, or even use sex toys on social media. But this openness needs to be seen from two angles: social and legal.

Sexuality is a natural human need. Modern society’s acceptance of sex toys as tools for health and safe relief is a sign of progress. Using adult toys in private is an absolute personal freedom.
However, social media is a public space with users of all ages, including minors. Publicly posting close-up videos or photos of using sensitive items, or writing overly explicit captions, crosses the line from openness into inappropriate behavior that offends common cultural values.
Vietnamese law protects personal freedom but strictly prohibits distributing obscene, sexually explicit content for profit or that harms social order. Many worry about young users being exposed to sexually suggestive posts pushed by social media algorithms.
Sexual freedom and self-expression only truly matter when they respect the law and the community around us.
