For example, a guy recently made $8,000 (around 200 million VND) by auctioning off an essay that Elon Musk had graded and annotated.
Before founding Tesla, Elon Musk spent some time as a teaching assistant, grading student essays at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania back in 1995. Recently, one of those essays, complete with Musk’s handwritten comments and scores, was auctioned off by RR Auctions in Boston. Surprisingly, the highest bid for this item, which is basically just Musk’s handwriting, reached $7,753 (about 179 million VND).
The lucky person who made a fortune from Elon Musk’s scribbles is Brian Thomas, a financial advisor who was once a student in the class Musk assisted. The essay was made public afterward. Even back then, Musk showed his unique style by signing only with the initials “EM” instead of his full name. As for Thomas, Musk deducted two points from his essay for using inappropriate language.
Thomas stumbled upon the essay while sorting through old papers, and suddenly found himself with a valuable collectible. This just goes to show how strong Elon Musk’s pull really is. No wonder the billionaire recently caused a stir by announcing he wants to quit his job and become a full-time influencer. But even without officially becoming a KOL, Musk is already very active on social media.
