Hailed as the blockbuster of 2022, Elden Ring has been smashing records left and right. Some even argue it deserves The Game Award already. But despite all the hype, players have pointed out some flaws. Like Genshin Impact, Elden Ring has been criticized for feeling a bit “one-note,” with limited player interaction and a heavy focus on solo boss fights that demand high skill. Recently, though, a new mod has shaken things up and caught the attention of the gaming community.

Although it’s called an online game, Elden Ring misses out on traditional team play. In the original, you can only summon friends for boss fights or PvP matches. But Luke Yui, a name buzzing in the Elden Ring community, just released a public mod that lets players freely team up, explore the open world, pray at sites, and take down bosses together without limits.

This mod, called Seamless Co-op, is now publicly available for Elden Ring players. In theory, it allows friends to team up from the very start and stick together all the way through the game. It’s been uploaded on GitHub, and players can download the Beta 1.00 version to try it out.

Early reviews highlight several cool features: after defeating a boss, players no longer get sent back to their own worlds like in the original. Up to four players can co-op together, and if someone dies during a boss fight, they can still watch the battle from a spectator view. Loot drops from bosses and mobs aren’t unique to one player anymore, everyone gets a share. Overall, this version of Elden Ring feels more complete than the original.

It’s no surprise that Seamless Co-op is getting so much attention since it meets what most players want. But gamers should be cautious because this mod doesn’t use the official game servers, so anti-cheat systems won’t be active.
