No one can deny that Elden Ring is a tough game. But it’s precisely that challenge and high skill requirement that made it so successful and exciting for players. However, that thrill is now at risk thanks to some clever, experienced gamers. It’s no coincidence that the fastest Elden Ring speedruns have been getting shorter and shorter. Now, a regular player can beat one of the hardest games ever in just around 6 minutes.

This surprises many, since 6 minutes is barely enough time just to explore the map. But the reason is clear: Elden Ring currently has a major bug. If you run the game at 139 frames per second, bosses barely pose any threat during the entire run. Players can just swing their sword and move a few steps in place, and suddenly all the gear is theirs, as shown below.

This exploit is known as “Megazip” and has been spreading rapidly across Elden Ring forums lately. Activating Megazip involves skipping forward 12-14 frames in a row, which increases the distance between the player and the boss by four times. Because the boss is so far away, when the player lands, the boss is registered as having fallen off the map, letting players breeze through the fight. Of course, pulling this off isn’t easy and requires practice.

Despite the flood of new records, many dedicated players strongly oppose this method. They argue it’s not impressive and ruins the fun of this blockbuster game. Some say anyone who uses this bug to beat Elden Ring can’t truly enjoy the victory. But the trend continues, with the latest record dropping to just 6 minutes and 38 seconds.
