Song Took Over a Year to Release
“Tộc Ca” first dropped in July 2019 to huge support from Độ Mixi’s fans and the gaming community in general. To date, the music video has racked up over 17 million views on YouTube. Its catchy tune has become a staple for anyone who follows Độ Mixi.
That success motivated the Tày ethnic streamer to plan a new, higher-quality track called “Độ Tộc 2” for himself and his fans.
Originally, the song was set to drop on Độ Mixi’s birthday last year as a special gift to the massive MixiGaming community. But due to some delays, the MV only officially premiered recently. On his livestream, Độ Mixi revealed the fresh track features a beat by Masew, vocals by Pháo and Phúc Du, and even some parts sung by the Tộc leader himself.
Before the release, Độ Mixi shared behind-the-scenes moments recording with Pháo and Phúc Du, plus funny stories about “locking in the beat” with Masew on Discord, which fans loved.
Độ Mixi said: “This song was made back in April 2020, so it might sound a bit different now. It’s been a long wait and I feel a bit guilty, so I hope everyone will enjoy and understand. Celebrating one year in the new home with the new Độ Tộc. Hope you all have fun listening!”
Over 260,000 Live Viewers
After teasing the demo multiple times, fans were clearly excited and eagerly awaited the official release. Everyone knew this drop would be just as hot as any top singer’s MV.
And they were right. Thousands tuned in early to catch the premiere, with a peak of 262,804 live viewers, a huge number for a Vietnamese streamer’s music release.
The social media buzz around “Độ Tộc 2” was also massive, with Độ Mixi’s announcement post getting hundreds of thousands of likes, comments, and shares.
On Track to Break ‘Tộc Ca 1’ Records
Just 30 minutes after release, the MV had nearly half a million views and that number is expected to keep climbing. With such a loyal fanbase, many hope this new track will surpass the records set by Độ Mixi’s previous videos.
