Earlier in December, Ms. K.P from Dong Thap decided to order an official iPhone 12 Pro Max from the D.Đ.V retail chain for nearly 33 million VND. Since the retailer had no local branch near her, she chose to have the phone shipped. D.Đ.V worked with two partners, B.M (warehouse manager) and B.E (delivery service), to get the phone to customers.
A few days later, the package arrived at Ms. K.P’s address. According to her, the delivery person didn’t call ahead, just left the package without any inspection or signature. When she opened the box, she was shocked to find no iPhone inside, only a rock.

After contacting the retailer, D.Đ.V provided video footage of the package being sealed and handed over to the post office. This led Ms. K.P to conclude that her iPhone was swapped during transit. She also reached out to B.E for support but was denied help since there was no video of the box being opened upon delivery.

When contacted, a D.Đ.V representative said they have proactively offered to send a replacement phone to the customer. However, the case is still ongoing, and they will continue working with the customer to get to the bottom of what happened.
“If delivery services keep working like this, how can you expect to keep customers? How can users trust buying online? How can businesses dare to sell online?” the store owner expressed frustration in a social media post.
For consumers, this incident highlights the importance of recording unboxing videos when buying high-value items online. Having video proof can be a huge help if you ever fall victim to scams like this.
