But behind her glamorous image lies a disturbing truth few knew. On April 25, her 21-year-old boyfriend called police to their Osaka apartment after a serious argument. He told officers that one of his fingers was stored in the fridge, preserved in alcohol. Police confirmed this was true. During the investigation, they uncovered even worse abuse. Sato also kept his bankbook and phone locked in a safe, controlling his daily life.
The victim said he met Sato back in 2012 when he was 19 after seeing her cosplay photos online. After pursuing her for a long time, they started dating and even lived together like a married couple. But from then on, Sato began mentally manipulating him. She insisted she only loved men who fully obeyed her. He was controlled physically and mentally, unable to use his phone or spend money without her permission. Despite suffering for two years, he couldn’t leave her because of her beauty. The fear of losing someone “perfect looking” kept him silent through the abuse until he finally couldn’t take it anymore.
Although charged with three counts of abuse, Saki Sato denies all accusations, claiming her boyfriend harmed himself due to mental health issues. The case has sparked outrage online and among fans.
