In relationships, money often feels like a minor thing, and buying your girlfriend little treats or taking her out has become a common habit for many guys. But recently, the internet buzzed over a curious story where a girl got labeled “high-class” by her boyfriend just because she asked to buy a 15,000 VND ice cream stick.
The couple has been together for about three years. One evening, they went to the walking street to hang out. Suddenly, the girl craved a lemon ice cream and asked her boyfriend to buy one. Normally, such a simple request wouldn’t be refused, but the problem was the ice cream price had gone up from 9,000 to 15,000 VND. Shockingly, her boyfriend flat out refused to buy it because of the price hike.

The original post that stirred up the internet said:
“A 15,000 VND lemon ice cream causes a couple to argue.”
“He turned to me and muttered, ’15k for one.’ Then, the least I expected was for him to take me somewhere else to get ice cream, but he said nothing. He just dragged me around the whole lake without a word. When I asked, he just mumbled. On the way home, he finally said:
‘Are you mad about the ice cream thing?’
Annoyed, I snapped back:
‘Yeah, I think it’s ridiculous. They already took it out and then said they wouldn’t buy it and put it away. The ice cream only went up by 6k, not 6 million, and you act like it’s a huge deal.’
‘You’re acting all high-class. You care way too much about pride.’
‘I’m chill, not losing face. I said I wanted it, but you won’t even buy it for me just because it’s 6k more? At least tell me to take just one if you’re really that tight with money.’
‘It’s none of your business. I just don’t think it’s worth 15k.’”

Feeling it was unfair to be called “high-class” over a 15,000 VND ice cream, the girl was also annoyed by her boyfriend’s stinginess. When the story hit social media, it quickly grabbed the attention of many, with lots siding with the girl and criticizing the boyfriend’s cheap attitude.
