For many gamers born in the 80s and 90s, Diablo II is a legendary game tied to their childhood. So when Blizzard announced they were reviving this classic RPG as Diablo II: Resurrected, excitement and high expectations were everywhere.

But when the game finally launched, it turned into a huge disappointment for most players. Sure, Diablo II: Resurrected looks better graphically, but its servers have been a nightmare. Even after more than two weeks, the game keeps crashing, going offline, and requiring constant maintenance.
On October 12, Blizzard repeatedly promised on Twitter that they would fix the game’s issues as soon as possible. Yet, players still face frequent crashes, lost gear, and progress that doesn’t save.

This has sparked a huge wave of anger among the gaming community, driving the user score on Metacritic down to a shocking 3.6 out of 10. This is the worst user rating in the Diablo series, with Diablo III still holding a 4.1. Simply put, Blizzard has ruined the legendary Diablo II name with this poor Resurrected version.

In the past, Blizzard also let down loyal fans with the disastrous Warcraft III: Reforged. Combined with the mess that is Diablo II: Resurrected, it’s clear Blizzard seems more focused on squeezing money from fans than delivering quality games. With these failures, gamers’ trust in Blizzard’s future titles has all but vanished.
