Apple is surveying iPhone 12 users to see if they actually use the lightning to USB-C charging cable included in the box.
Earlier in 2020, Apple ran a similar survey about the power adapter included with iPhones. As we know, Apple then removed the charger and EarPods from the iPhone 12 boxes.
According to 9to5Mac, iPhone 12 users are now being asked by Apple whether they actually use the accessories included in the box, like the charging cable, SIM eject tool, and Apple stickers.
This suggests Apple might be considering removing not just the charger but also other accessories from iPhone boxes. However, if this happens, users will likely push back hard. While old chargers can still be used, iPhone charging cables tend to wear out, break, or fray quickly, making it tough to reuse old cables.
Apple is also asking iPhone 12 users about their Face ID experience. This could hint that Apple plans to introduce under-display Touch ID technology, possibly replacing Face ID in the future.
