Akshan is buzzing in the League of Legends community right now. But some Liên Quân Mobile players are also paying close attention to this new champion. Even before Akshan’s official release, there are claims that his design overlaps with at least one hero from Liên Quân Mobile.
The most talked-about comparison is with Aoi from Liên Quân Mobile. Akshan’s “Heroic Swing” ability lets him shoot out a grappling hook that attaches to the first terrain it hits. Once hooked, he can reactivate the skill to swing around the terrain in a chosen direction, firing physical damage shots at nearby enemies. While swinging, he can reactivate again to leap off in a direction and fire a final shot.
This ability closely resembles Aoi’s “Dragon Claw” skill in Liên Quân Mobile. Aoi has been in Liên Quân for quite some time, long before Akshan was introduced in League of Legends. Because of this, some Liên Quân players accuse Akshan of “borrowing” ideas and even outright copying Aoi.
Some players have also pointed out that Akshan’s kit shares similarities with Tulen and Elsu from Liên Quân. This isn’t the first time Liên Quân fans have accused a new League of Legends champion of copying their game. When Yone was released, Liên Quân players quickly claimed he was a copy of their heroes Yorn and Allain. One player even posted in a Liên Quân community group saying, “The new League of Legends champion is clearly copying Yorn and Allain from Liên Quân. League is falling apart.”
Of course, it’s impossible to prove that League of Legends copied Liên Quân. But Liên Quân players always find reasons to defend their favorite game. As for who copied who, that’s something each fan will decide for themselves.
