Controversial comment stirs drama while Faker is praised
The League of Legends community was shaken when popular Chinese streamer Mina made a sensitive remark about legendary player Lee Sang-hyeok, Faker. During a livestream on the evening of November 6, while discussing T1’s winning streak, Mina suddenly said: “Faker is 30 now, hasn’t he experienced life yet?”

This personal and disrespectful comment quickly went viral. Thousands of angry comments flooded social media, accusing Mina of using Faker’s name to stir up drama and boost views.

Many believe that while Faker is celebrated as a symbol of dedication, professionalism, and humility, Mina’s remarks damage the image of a role model esports athlete and lower the ethical standards expected of streamers.
When chasing views crosses ethical lines
At 30, Faker remains a legend in Korean esports. Known for his private lifestyle, zero scandals, and full focus on competition, attaching sensitive personal comments to him is seen as highly disrespectful and uncultured.

Both Korean and Chinese netizens criticized Mina heavily. Many accused her of “selling respect for views” and deliberately shocking audiences to attract new followers. Some harsh comments read: “Streamers should rely on talent, not cheap talk”, “Don’t turn someone else’s success into lowbrow entertainment.”

It’s worth noting that Faker has never responded to or commented on rumors about his personal life. This only deepens fans’ admiration for his calm and professional attitude. Meanwhile, Mina’s words have become a negative example of a harmful trend. Saying things “just for fun” that hurt others cannot be dismissed as harmless jokes.
