Recently, the adult doll industry has been booming like never before. Partly due to gender imbalances in some countries, but especially now as the pandemic spreads across many nations, these products are flying off the shelves.
According to recent stats, an e-commerce company in Zhejiang, China reported a sharp rise in adult doll orders in recent days, especially exports to countries like Spain, Italy, and Germany. Meanwhile, a factory director in Shenzhen said his workshop produces 3,000 to 4,000 adult dolls monthly, but demand still outpaces supply for shipments to Europe, the US, and Japan.
In fact, since the pandemic started, some countries like Italy have seen order volumes jump five times compared to the same period before. Many e-commerce platforms report at least double the usual orders for adult dolls. The main buyers tend to be people aged 30 to 35 with disposable income, as prices range from about 3 million VND up to over 60 million VND depending on quality and special requests.
Additionally, some buyers purchase these dolls without actually using them, mainly for display or collection purposes. Over time, designs and small details are continuously improved to make the dolls look more realistic.
