There are plenty of ways to make any phone charge faster, but you also need to know that phones have limits on how quickly they can take in power and how you charge them. For example, the best wireless chargers offer convenience but arent the fastest way to charge your phone.
Here are some tips to help you speed up your phone charging.
1. Use a wall outlet and a fast charger that supports your phone
A wall outlet almost always charges faster than plugging into a USB port on your desktop or laptop. The best USB ports usually only provide about 2.5 watts of power. Also, picking the highest wattage charger compatible with your phone is pretty important.
2. Should you use wireless charging?
Wireless charging is more convenient than wired chargers but usually slower. So if speed matters most, skip the convenience and plug your charger directly into a wall socket.

3. Stop using your phone while charging
This might sound obvious, but if you want your phone to charge as fast as possible, you need to put it down. Otherwise, youre just using the incoming power to run the screen and processor for whatever busy task youre doing.
Turning off social media apps or streaming to your phones TV might not speed up charging much, but even if youre not actively using it, your phone still uses power. Consider switching your phone to Airplane mode to save energy from Wi-Fi or LTE, or better yet, turn it off completely until you need it. That will give you the most battery power when you do.
4. Keep your phone cool
If youre charging on a hot day, bring your phone into a cool room. Batteries are sensitive to heat, and if your phone gets too hot, it will slow down charging to stay safe.
Remember not to leave your phone on a sunny windowsill or near a warm heater. You might even want to take your phone out of its case if it heats up during use.
5. Get a portable charger
Technically, wireless charging doesnt speed up charging, but if you often worry about your phone not charging fast enough, you might want to avoid running low on battery altogether. The best way is to get a portable power bank. Just toss it in your bag, and youll feel more confident your phone can get a quick energy boost whenever it needs one.
