2 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Hanoi on Feb 1 Morning

The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention reported 2 new community cases in Hanoi as of 6 AM on February 1.

COVID-19 cases in Vietnam:

– As of 6 AM on February 1, Vietnam has a total of 933 domestic COVID-19 cases, including 240 new cases recorded since January 27.

– From 6 PM on January 31 to 6 AM on February 1, there were 2 new cases, with zero imported cases quarantined upon arrival.

Details on the new cases: Both are community transmissions detected in Hanoi. Specifically:

– CASE 1818 (Patient 1818) is a 40-year-old woman living in Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, who had contact with Patient 1723.

– CASE 1819 (Patient 1819) is a 48-year-old woman from Cau Giay District, Hanoi, who attended the wedding of Patient 1814’s family in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province.

Both tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on January 31 at Hanoi Center for Disease Control.

Currently, the patients are isolated and receiving treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Dong Anh campus.

Regarding Patient 1818, Hanoi authorities issued an urgent notice asking anyone who visited Thanh Huyen Hair Salon in Nam Tu Liem between January 26-28 to self-isolate at home and notify the nearest health agency.

Quarantine numbers: A total of 26,861 people who had close contact or returned from affected areas are under health monitoring (quarantine), including:

– Hospital quarantine: 185

– Centralized quarantine at other facilities: 20,917

– Home or accommodation quarantine: 5,759.
