That’s when everything fell apart. The family is far from wealthy. The 60,000 yuan was compensation money for the mother, who lost a finger in a work accident, and it was their entire family savings. The father is wheelchair-bound after a previous stroke. While the family was struggling to get by, the boy spent all their savings on donations to please the streamer.
Fortunately, with help from the platform and others, the mother was able to recover the money. But this serves as a lesson for fans of many streamers today. It’s best to enjoy entertainment responsibly and only donate within your means.
