The streamer scene has gone from booming to seriously saturated.

Those determined to stick with streaming face huge pressure to keep their audience engaged and loyal. Without fresh, exciting content, streamers have to grind hard and go live often. Even a single day off can mean viewers jump to another channel.

Because of this, one female streamer pushed through despite her health.

Streamer Duong Lieu, who just had skull surgery, decided to go live even though she wasn’t fully healed. Her face was still swollen and her wound hadn’t closed, but she didn’t hesitate to get back to work.

Streamers constantly battle the pressure to maintain their image, fanbase, and daily engagement. For Duong Lieu, going live right after surgery came from a fear of losing followers. She didn’t want a break to make fans forget her.

Plus, she didn’t want to miss any chance to connect with her audience. Sharing her unique story live also helped boost attention and keep fans interested, drawing more eyes from the community.
