The rivalry between Arena of Valor players and Wild Rift fans has never cooled down, especially since news broke that Wild Rift would launch in 2020. Arena of Valor players naturally worried their game’s position might be shaken once Wild Rift arrived.
From time to time, drama flares up between the two communities. Recently, a moderator from a Wild Rift group posted a controversial image claiming that Ryoma’s Legendary Samurai skin in Arena of Valor was a copy of Yasuo, one of the most famous champions in League of Legends and soon to be in Wild Rift.
Calling Yasuo one of the most iconic champions in League is no exaggeration. He’s so popular that Vietnamese players call him “The God,” implying Yasuo is on another level. This has led some players to overestimate Yasuo’s influence.
Yasuo’s design is heavily inspired by Musashi, Japan’s greatest swordsman. His battle-worn face, ponytail, and fighting style closely resemble Musashi’s famed Niten Ichi-ryu sword technique.
Some players pointed out, “You guys should know Yasuo was created based on Miyamoto Musashi, a legendary Japanese swordsman. Yasuo isn’t the original source, so don’t compare like that or other gaming communities will judge us.”
Whether Arena of Valor actually copied Yasuo’s concept remains uncertain. What’s clear is that many Wild Rift fans are tired of these endless comparisons and drama.
One player harshly commented, “It’s not like anyone’s copying anyone. The samurai image isn’t unique to Yasuo. If you want, just look up samurai designs before accusing others. Honestly, this drama is embarrassing.”
It looks like the feud between Arena of Valor and Wild Rift players will keep going until both sides get tired and move on. What happens when Wild Rift officially launches remains to be seen.
