In todays digital age, social media has become fertile ground for new career paths, and idol livestreaming has emerged as a dream job for many young people. With its glamorous image and promises of huge income, it has attracted a lot of attention, especially from students.

However, the account dearserenityd, a female idol, bravely posted a video revealing the harsh truths and terrifying hidden sides few know about. Her story is not only a warning but also an alarm about a job that seems glamorous but hides many risks and traps.

Tempting Offers and the “Easy Job, High Pay” Trap

“I made a mistake,” she begins with a bitter confession in her video.

She explains that due to poor health but needing a side job to support herself, she found what seemed like a perfect opportunity on Facebook: becoming an idol livestreamer. The ads painted a bright picture: work from home, no experience needed, just chatting, competing, singing. A fixed salary of 10 million VND was enough to convince her this was the right chance.

But she soon realized that easy work was just an empty promise. The job wasnt just about singing or chatting. She had to spend hours daily in front of the screen, keeping energy up to engage viewers. The pressure to constantly create fresh content, keep the audience hooked, and boost revenue was a heavy mental burden. Especially, she says this job is far from safe, even if done at home.

Soliciting and Revenue Pressure

The most shocking part of her story is being asked to use her personal account to solicit high-level users, inviting them to livestreams to send gifts. This is a common tactic by idol management companies to maximize revenue. She shares, “Viewers dont come looking for me, I have to actively find and solicit them.” This damages the dignity and image of idols, making many feel like they are selling their honor.

Revenue pressure is a double-edged sword. While management companies promise tens or even hundreds of millions in income, the reality is harsh. After a month of hard work, she only earned 1.7 million VND. Some colleagues made slightly more but still not significant.

Moreover, the company never pays the high salaries they promise. Instead, they blame the idols for not earning enough, saying their outfits are inappropriate or their soliciting skills arent good enough. This creates a vicious cycle: idols try harder but are forced to do unethical things to make money, only to end up with meager pay.

Worker Disadvantages and Risks

Another important point she mentions is the companys management model. “The owner said a 10 million VND contract is split over 30 days.” This shows a lack of transparency in salary calculation and profit sharing, potentially causing risks and unfair treatment for workers.

Not to mention, handing over full control of personal accounts to the company is extremely risky. She says her account was used by the company to message and solicit users, even married men. This not only causes loss of control over personal identity but can lead to unpredictable problems.

Honest Advice: “Never Become an Idol”

After a bitter month, this female idol offers heartfelt advice: “Never become a livestream idol.” She stresses the job is not as easy as many think. It requires nonstop effort, sacrifices time, and sometimes even dignity.

She also sincerely advises not to be fooled by fake income numbers on social media and never trust easy job, high pay promises without thorough research. Especially for students who are vulnerable due to lack of experience and financial needs.

Ending her video, she states, “This is a job you should never do just because it pays well or lets you work from home.” She says her story isnt unique but a wake-up call for anyone lost in the maze of social media and fake values. Stay alert, research carefully, and choose a job that fits you. Dont trade your dignity and safety chasing a flashy but dangerous dream.
