NTN’s channel has usually focused on challenges and experiments with new, unusual topics. Although he’s sparked plenty of controversy in the past, this YouTuber has been changing his approach. Recently, NTN even admitted his mistakes and deleted all his old negative videos and images. But just recently, he surprised fans with a totally different kind of video. He opened up about being scammed out of 60 million VND (around $2,600) and even threatened by the scammer when they met face to face.

It all started when NTN kept running into trouble and lost access to his Facebook account. Trusting a friend named H, NTN asked for help and was introduced to another person named N, who promised to recover the account. At first, NTN sent H 30 million VND hoping to get his Facebook back quickly, then sent another 30 million after getting impatient with the wait. Part of it was because the account held many memories, and part was trusting his friends, so he transferred the money without hesitation.

But things didn’t progress, and NTN started to suspect something was off. He arranged to meet N in Ho Chi Minh City to confront him. According to NTN, N even brought a folding knife to intimidate him. “After a while of talking, seeing I didn’t react to the knife N brought, he just sat there spinning all kinds of stories about himself” NTN shared.

Luckily, the meeting ended peacefully when N agreed to recover the account by November 25 after signing a contract with fingerprint verification. If he failed, he promised to refund NTN’s money. But so far, NTN’s Facebook remains inaccessible, and despite his efforts to reach out, N has disappeared and is avoiding contact. “60 million VND is nothing compared to the lesson I learned: never trust anyone outside yourself in this world” NTN said, reflecting on his experience.
