In recent years, Vietnam’s YouTube scene has seen tons of new faces rising quickly to fame, grabbing the attention of millions online. Bà Tân Vlog and 1977 Vlog are two of the clearest examples. These channels became household names for many of us. But viral fame is often fleeting, and today, neither channel holds the same spotlight as before.
Bà Tân Vlog
When she first appeared, Bà Tân Vlog shocked the Vietnamese YouTube world in ways no one expected. Her giant-sized dishes weren’t exactly new, but she won fans with her down-to-earth, simple style and catchphrases like “60 pots of bánh chưng” and “Grandma greets you all.” At her peak, every video would rack up millions of views within hours. But things have changed a lot since then.

After numerous controversies over hygiene concerns, strange cooking methods, and video editing, plus negative incidents involving her son Hưng Vlog, Bà Tân Vlog isn’t talked about as much anymore. Her videos have also seen a sharp drop in views, sometimes less than a tenth of what they used to get.
1977 Vlog
About a year ago, 1977 Vlog shook up the online community with their hilarious, witty videos packed with social and worldly insights. Their innocent, simple humor matched perfectly with their signature black-and-white filming style. But not everyone could catch all the clever details. With just four videos, they quickly hit YouTube’s Gold Play Button milestone.

Today, 1977 Vlog still enjoys a loyal fanbase and respect for their meaningful content. However, their popularity isn’t as intense as before. Partly because they upload less frequently and don’t chase YouTube revenue, and partly because their style isn’t as fresh anymore. Still, 1977 Vlog remains one of Vietnam’s most enduring YouTube phenomena.
Khoa Pug
Khoa Pug rose to fame after a scandal at a resort, then kept surprising viewers with extravagant reviews and spending sprees. His luxury trips costing billions of dong and tasting gourmet dishes grabbed millions of views at his peak.

But after some time, fewer people seem as interested in Khoa Pug as before. Although he still has a big fanbase, his name is slowly fading from the spotlight.
