Than Thu Hien, a 1999-born gamer from Bac Giang province, is a single mom with a 4-year-old son. She started gaming just for fun and to chat with others who shared her passion. Nearly two years ago, she met Nguyen Doan Quan, also 22, from Ha Tinh on a gaming forum. “At first, we just invited each other to play together normally. Then we talked more, shared feelings, and I ended up flirting and confessing to him,” she said.
Quan, the male gamer from Ha Tinh, liked her too since they often teamed up in matches. So there was no reason to say no. But their happiness hit a rough patch when Quan and his family found out she was a single mom. Due to strong social stigma, the couple had to break up.
During their time apart, Quan realized how deep his feelings were. Thu Hien was the most special girlfriend he’d ever had. He reached out to get back together, ready to face the challenges, especially his family’s objections.
“Of course, things weren’t smooth at first. There were many conflicts between both families. I was caught in the middle trying to balance everything. Over time, both families and my girlfriend understood each other better. After a year and a half of dating, we decided to get married next month,” Quan said excitedly.
The couple describes each other as understanding, hardworking, and caring toward those around them. Before deciding to settle down, both PUBG Mobile gamers thought it through carefully. They’re determined to build a family, focus on their careers, and create a stable life together.
In sharing her own “fairy tale,” Than Thu Hien says finding the right partner who truly loves you is a matter of luck. The 22-year-old also encourages other single players in the PUBG Mobile community: “True love does exist in the gaming world. Not all online relationships are fake or end in heartbreak. The key is to have faith.”
