On the afternoon of March 2, Ms. Thuy, the wife of Nguyen Ngoc Manh, the man who climbed onto a metal roof to catch a girl falling from the 12th floor of a building at 60B Nguyen Huy Tuong, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi, announced that her husband’s main Facebook account was hacked by bad actors.
Ms. Thuy posted on her personal Facebook: “Right now, my husband Nguyen Ngoc Manh’s account is lost. Everyone please be careful. We will update once we recover it. Please stay alert and watch out.”
Ms. Thuy shared this to warn people against scammers who might try to exploit the situation.
Although Manh’s Facebook page is still active, his latest post is a video showing an aerial view of the rescue incident.
After a few hours of posting about the hack, Ms. Thuy updated that her husband has regained access to his Facebook account. In just two days, his page gained over 28,000 followers.
Following media coverage of the rescue, Manh’s personal page attracted massive public attention, with many people liking, loving, and commenting on his previous posts.
However, there are also several pages, groups, and even fake accounts using the name Nguyen Ngoc Manh, though their intentions remain unclear.

Around 5:30 PM, people saw a girl crawling on the balcony of the 12th floor. Residents in the opposite building shouted for help. Nguyen Ngoc Manh, 31, a truck driver from Dong Anh district, Hanoi, was parked nearby and heard the commotion.
Seeing the girl, he quickly got out of his vehicle, climbed to the adjacent building, and then onto the metal roof of a parking garage. When the girl fell, he caught her just in time, preventing her from hitting the ground.
Fortunately, the girl was only injured and was rushed to the children’s hospital. Manh suffered a sprained wrist.
