Edith Riddle, 34, from Jacksonville, Florida, showed up at DuPont Middle School earlier this month after hearing her daughter had a conflict with a classmate.

Reports say she brought along a man and a teenage student from another school to intimidate the victim. The group then headed to the school cafeteria, where, along with Riddle’s daughter, they attacked a 12-year-old girl.
Riddle reportedly punched the victim repeatedly in the head while wearing boxing gloves until school security intervened and pulled her away.
The attack was captured on a cellphone video showing the young student on the ground being assaulted by Riddle and her group. According to reports, Riddle told the school she had glued the boxing gloves to her hands but claimed she only intended to handle the situation with her bare hands.
Edith Riddle was immediately arrested and charged with child abuse using a weapon, while the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The victim’s family expressed outrage not only at Edith Riddle but also at the school’s security management.
“How could two strangers be wandering around the schoolyard without the guards noticing? I think the school is just as much at fault as Ms. Riddle,” said Crystal Wiltsee, the victim’s mother.
