Fake ads promise early access to steal players’ Steam accounts
On Reddit, a warning post has surfaced after numerous scam ads appeared. These ads look like early access invites for DICE’s upcoming shooter, but the links don’t lead to official EA or Steam sites. Instead, they redirect to fake websites designed to mimic the Steam login portal.

Unaware players risk handing over their Steam login info, payment methods, and game libraries. While these sites look convincing, careful users can spot suspicious domain names.
Community members quickly raised the alarm, stressing that EA has not announced any Battlefield 6 playtests. They reminded everyone that official tests are always handled through trusted EA and Steam channels. The topic caught Reddit’s attention, with many calling for the removal of these harmful ads.

This isn’t the first time scammers have exploited hype around major shooters
Call of Duty: Warzone players were targeted by cheat tools that were actually malware. In 2021, Activision warned that popular “free hacks” for the game were designed to steal data or install malicious software.
For now, players should avoid clicking any Battlefield 6 ads on Reddit and double-check URLs. Official Steam pages always end with “steampowered.com” or “steamcommunity.com”. Enabling two-factor authentication is also recommended for extra security.

This warning reminds everyone that while anticipation for Battlefield 6 is high, official announcements will come directly from EA and DICE, not random Reddit ads.
