Pranks and trolling have long been some of the most popular content on YouTube worldwide. Vietnam is no exception, with creators like Hung Vlog and NTN once scaring viewers with their wild antics. But when it comes to pushing pranks too far and causing serious consequences, no one compares to Alan and Alex Stokes.
Alan and Alex Stokes are American twin brothers well-known on YouTube for their elaborate pranks and staged scenarios. But sometimes people don’t realize these are fake, and when you act too convincingly, trouble is bound to come. Few expected the harsh consequences these two would face after pretending to be real bank robbers.
In the video, Alan and Alex dressed up as bank robbers with all-black outfits, masks, and even a burlap sack full of fake cash. They acted like criminals rushing to escape, trying to hail an Uber while secretly filming the whole thing. Of course, no Uber driver agreed to pick them up, and bystanders thought it was a real robbery and called the police.
When police arrived, they immediately drew their guns and detained the twins. After realizing it was a prank, charges of violence, threats, and deception were still filed against them. They faced up to 5 years in prison. Luckily, they ended up with 160 hours of community service and local probation. A tough lesson for the brothers.
The Stokes twins’ YouTube channel still has over 6.6 million subscribers. Even after this incident, their latest video pulled in 1.4 million views, though their content has since become much less reckless and prank-heavy.
