Mukbang used to be one of the hottest trends, attracting huge audiences on YouTube and other platforms. Back then, everyone was jumping on the Mukbang bandwagon as a fast track to fame. While eating on camera has become more common now and Mukbang isn’t as viral as it once was, the YouTubers who made it big still have massive engagement. But that success sometimes comes at a serious cost to their health, like in the case of Dorothy below.

With a YouTube channel boasting 4.15 million followers, Dorothy is definitely a big name on the platform. But while she was regularly posting videos, she suddenly disappeared for four weeks without any updates or new content. This led many fans to wonder if she had quit YouTube for good. Recently, all those questions were finally answered.

In her latest post, Dorothy sincerely apologized to her fans for the sudden and mysterious absence. The reason? Health issues. One day, for reasons unknown, her blood pressure suddenly shot up to 300, an alarmingly high number that forced her to be rushed to the hospital immediately. Of course, many people found the number 300 hard to believe at first.

Many also commented that she should be more careful with Mukbang videos, since eating too much isn’t always healthy. This sparked debate about whether Mukbang YouTubers really eat all that food or use video tricks to fake it, like the recent controversy involving YouTuber Bok-hee.

This suspicion makes sense since the amount of food is huge and often greasy, yet we rarely see Mukbang YouTubers gaining weight. As for Dorothy, she should probably rethink her work routine because a blood pressure of 300 is definitely no joke.
