The difference between online products and the real deal has long been one of the easiest ways to spot fakes. Even knowing this, with so many online marketplaces booming, plenty of people still fall for shady sellers’ sweet promises. Take the case of this guy who ended up crying over the Iron Man mask he ordered.
The story starts with a guy named Rurarbou in Japan who found an Iron Man helmet online with a very flashy description. It was said to look just like the real thing, with voice interaction and glowing eyes like in the movies. Despite some doubts, especially since it came from Guangdong, China, and the surprisingly low price, he decided to take a chance. After all, he’s a huge Iron Man and Marvel fan.
But when the package arrived, the disappointment was huge.
Two weeks after ordering, Rurarbou got a small, flat package that already looked nothing like the online photos. Opening it revealed something even more shocking, it looked like a cheap rubber mask kids might get for a festival. The glowing eyes? Check out the photo on the right. The “LEDs” were tiny little dots that looked nothing like the flashy lights promised.
All he could do was swallow his disappointment. Poor Rurarbou lost money and got scammed just because of his curiosity.
