Released on September 29, Konami’s eFootball 2022 has faced heavy criticism from gamers, especially longtime fans of the legendary PES series. The game is plagued with graphic and gameplay bugs, frustrating players who are upset that Konami shut down the PES series only to release what many call a disaster.
To calm the backlash, Konami recently announced on Twitter that update 0.9.1, which will fix bugs and other issues, is scheduled for release on October 28. Konami also promised to keep sharing updates about eFootball 2022’s development plans with the community going forward.
Despite Konami’s apologies and promises to improve the game, many players just can’t accept eFootball 2022. Passionate fans of the PES series have been calling on Konami to scrap eFootball and bring back the classic PES games. Some are even so frustrated they say they’ll switch to EA’s FIFA for the first time since 2003 after experiencing the eFootball disaster.
The gamers’ anger shows that eFootball 2022 is nothing short of a disaster. It might even be considered a stain on Konami’s gaming history. Hopefully, the company can find a way to win back fans, or else a large number of Konami’s customers might jump ship to EA’s FIFA.
