Recently, a case in Hanoi where an English tutor was caught “not wearing clothes” while teaching an 8-year-old student online has stirred outrage across social media.
According to the parent, the child usually studies one-on-one with the tutor. However, one day the parent checked in during the online lesson and was shocked to find the tutor was naked.
The parent recorded the incident and posted it on social media.
The tutor worked part-time at an English center outside Hanoi and has since resigned, apologizing to the family of the 8-year-old student after the incident.
According to Dân trí, the tutor is 28 years old and married. She originally worked for a travel company but switched to part-time tutoring due to Covid-19, as she is fluent in both English and Japanese.
The center explained that the tutor had stepped out of frame to change clothes but didn’t realize she was still visible on camera. She is currently suffering psychological shock due to the intense online backlash. The center also said they will provide legal support as some false information has been spread online.
The center has refunded the student’s family and said if they wish to continue English lessons there, they will find a suitable solution. The family agreed to remove the post and video since sharing it caused significant harm to the tutor.
