Recently, a tragic incident unfolded after a man, devastated by being scammed emotionally and financially by his favorite streamer, took his own life by jumping into a river.
This shocking case has stirred the online community and happened in Henan, China. The victim’s daughter, Xiaolin, spoke to the media and revealed that her father was deeply infatuated with a streamer named Anna. Before his death, Xiaolin’s father had recklessly spent large sums of money buying gifts for Anna, even borrowing money to please his idol. But when he ran out of funds and was blocked by Anna from her chat and livestreams, he fell into despair and saw no way out.
According to Xiaolin, her father used to be wealthy and affectionate, which made his relationship with Anna seem strong. At times, Anna even called him late into the night to chat. During these moments, he tried everything to win her favor, swiping his card daily to buy gifts that helped Anna climb the daily, weekly, and monthly rankings. He even lent her money on multiple occasions. Xiaolin once had a fierce argument with her father, but he refused to listen, firmly believing they would marry soon, as Anna had promised.
But after a single donation exceeding 300,000 yuan (about 150,000 USD), Xiaolin’s father was completely broke. That’s when Anna blocked him without mercy. Reports say he even went to the police station to report the crime but hesitated and ultimately chose to handle it on his own without police help. Tragically, that was his last journey.
Now that the story has broken, Anna has deleted her account and disappeared from the platform just as quickly as she ghosted her unfortunate fan. Her current whereabouts remain a mystery.
