Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, known as the master of crypto magic and Time magazine’s Man of the Year, has become a familiar figure to internet users over the past few years. Not only does he shock people with his often “wild” statements, but Elon also leaves many scratching their heads with cryptic tweets that cause sudden spikes or drops in various cryptocurrencies. Recently, this talented “wizard” once again caused a Vietnamese NFT game’s token price to double with just a casual tweet.

Not long ago, Elon Musk randomly tweeted “tau >pi,” a phrase that didn’t seem to carry much meaning. However, as usual, crypto investors started dissecting and analyzing it, believing there was some hidden message behind it. As a result, investors rushed to buy coins named Tau and Pi, following the hint from Elon’s tweet.

The outcome was predictable. The value of TAU, the token for a Vietnamese NFT game project called The Atlantis, suddenly skyrocketed in a short time. Before the tweet, TAU traded at $0.08 per token. Just 10 minutes after Elon’s tweet, the price jumped to $0.14 per token. The trading volume for TAU also surged fivefold, from $95,000 to nearly $500,000.

Looking at it simply, mathematically, both Tau and Pi are constants related to circles. Tau equals 6.28, which is twice the value of Pi (3.14), so Elon tweeting “tau > pi” is just stating the obvious. Why he chose to tweet that, only Elon Musk knows. Keep in mind, this isn’t the first time this “wizard” has effortlessly influenced coin prices with a casual tweet.
