Every mistake in life comes with a price, and often that price is money, sometimes a lot of it. That’s exactly what happened to gamer Dino Dealer, who’s now devastated after losing over $1 million (around 24 billion VND) because of one wrong click.
Dino Dealer is a well-known NFT collector famous for making huge profits trading his NFT items. But even with all his experience, he made a silly mistake recently. When trying to list an NFT called EtherRock for 444 ETH (about $1.2 million), he accidentally set the price to 444 wei, less than a cent. He quickly realized the error, but a bot that scans NFT marketplaces like OpenSea spotted the bargain and snapped it up instantly. Of course, Dino couldn’t react as fast as the bot.
Since NFTs blew up, bots have been programmed to hunt for mistakes like this on marketplaces, taking advantage of investors’ slip-ups. Dino Dealer became the latest victim. He tried reaching out to the bot owner to get his NFT back and called on the online community for support, but it seems like a lost cause. Every mistake has a cost, and for Dino, it was a very expensive one.
Still, some kind-hearted people sent him lower-value NFT rocks to help ease his loss. Others shared an email address supposedly belonging to the Ethereum team, who might be able to help recover his funds. But realistically, Dino might just have to accept the loss and move on.
