Many players think Elden Ring is mostly a solo experience, with its high difficulty coming mainly from boss fights. But sometimes, the real danger doesn’t come from the game’s bosses, but from other players. Don’t forget, online features have become a major part of Souls-like games over the years, and Elden Ring is no exception. However, what it brings to the table is causing headaches for a lot of players.

Recently, the Elden Ring community was shaken by news of a group of players who specialize in “ruining the game.” Their method is pretty simple: they invade other players’ worlds, cast invisibility spells, then lurk around waiting for the perfect moment to ambush and kill their victims. A video shared online showed that the number of victims is far from small.

This kind of stealth is really hard for victims to detect. According to many players, right after defeating a boss, they often get ambushed by these assassins who then steal all their rewards. Many new players were left confused and frustrated, even thinking the game was bugged until they saw posts exposing this behavior. It’s understandable since fighting and dodging boss attacks already demands a lot of focus.

Of course, players have ways to fight back against these blatant invasions. One of the simplest, though a bit crude, is to play the game offline. Also, in Dark Souls, when invaded, players can use an item that automatically summons others to help fend off invaders. This is a feature Elden Ring could consider adding.
