Recently, YouTuber Khoa Pug caught the attention of netizens by returning to YouTube with videos documenting his leg-lengthening journey in the US. Just days after surgery and taking his first steps on his new legs, Khoa Pug has officially been discharged from the hospital.

In his video, the YouTuber shared that he spends $4,000 a month (nearly 100 million VND) renting a hotel in the US. This serves as his resting place while continuing physical therapy until his next surgery.

At his private training area with his doctor, Khoa Pug uses various equipment to improve leg flexibility and stretch muscles. Although it’s still tough and sometimes painful, he remains determined to follow his doctor’s instructions.

His goal after the first surgery is to grow 8 cm taller. To do this, he uses a special device that gradually lengthens the bones. Each day, Khoa Pug adjusts the machine four times, stretching the bones by 0.25 mm each time. That means every 10 days, he grows 1 cm taller. To reach his target, he needs about 80 days.
Compared to his hospital days, Khoa Pug can now move much more quickly. Though he still relies on a walker and wheelchair, the reduced pain has made daily life easier.
To celebrate his longer legs, Khoa Pug went all out by buying king crab for a feast. He also shared more about his height: “I used to be 1.67 m tall, while the average height for Vietnamese men was 1.65 m. But over time, the average height rose to 1.68 m. That’s one of the reasons I decided to lengthen my legs.”

He also pointed out the challenges ahead, especially the costs involved, including surgery fees, hospital stays, medication, hotel rent, and physical therapy. Khoa Pug estimates that each extra centimeter costs about 500 million VND. So, to go from 1.67 m to 1.75 m, he’ll need at least 4 billion VND. Besides the financial burden, he also has to prepare for lifestyle inconveniences and health impacts. He chose Southern Hills hospital in the US, a place known for catering to wealthy patients, with room rates around $4,500 per night (nearly 105 million VND).
The YouTuber advises young people in their growth years to exercise regularly and eat healthily to naturally reach their height potential, rather than resorting to medical procedures later.
