Elon Musk now has a total of nine children, including five with his first wife Justine Musk and two with singer Claire Boucher, known as Grimes. Court records reveal Musk and Shivon Zilis welcomed twins in 2021. Zilis is an executive at Neuralink.

Records show Musk and Zilis filed to change the twins’ names to include Musk’s last name and Zilis’s surname as a middle name. The filing was made in Austin, Texas, where the children were born, and has been approved. Zilis reportedly gave birth in November 2021, just weeks before Musk and Boucher welcomed their second child via surrogate.
Zilis, 36, was born in Canada and studied economics and philosophy at Yale University before working at IBM and Bloomberg Beta. She’s considered a rising star in artificial intelligence and has appeared on Forbes 30 Under 30 and LinkedIn 35 Under 35 lists.
According to LinkedIn, Zilis serves as Chief Operating Officer and Special Projects lead at Neuralink. She started working there in May 2017.
Musk owns and runs several companies including Neuralink, electric car maker Tesla, space travel company SpaceX, and tunnel construction firm The Boring Company. Recently, he agreed to buy Twitter for $44 billion.
In the past, Musk has advocated for higher birth rates, warning that “civilization will collapse” if people don’t have more children. “I mean, I’ll do my part, haha,” he wrote on Twitter.
In April, one of Musk’s daughters filed to legally change her last name, officially cutting legal ties with him.
