ViewSonic recently unveiled its latest EdTech solution called “UNIVERSE by ViewSonic.” The beta version features a vibrant 3D virtual learning environment. By building a metaverse, teachers and students can connect in a digital space from anywhere in the real world.
“The COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted all aspects of global social and economic life, including education. However, thanks to the application of information technology and digital transformation in education, teaching and learning have overcome barriers of time and space,” said Kevin Chu, Development Director of the UNIVERSE project at ViewSonic.
“As a leading EdTech solutions company, we created a digital learning platform that enhances the experience and brings excitement to students in every class. UNIVERSE by ViewSonic is a virtual reality project designed to let students freely explore and ask questions through immersive 3D experiences. Teachers can build virtual landscapes based on lesson plans, making learning more engaging than just reading textbooks.”

“UNIVERSE by ViewSonic” offers many interactive spaces for teachers and students like classrooms, auditoriums, and common areas. Students can freely express themselves and interact with peers worldwide through personalized avatars. Controls, communication tools, and emotional expressions are designed to be intuitive and easy to use, delivering a lifelike experience.

For teachers, UNIVERSE by ViewSonic provides interactive teaching tools like screen sharing, teacher camera presentations, quizzes, and polls to meet various teaching needs. Meanwhile, students can join common areas to study together or be assigned to private rooms for group discussions.

Finally, classroom management features allow teachers to switch between teaching and discussion modes. Real-time data reports automatically compile information on class engagement and student focus, enabling teachers to take immediate actions to improve lesson quality.
The official version of UNIVERSE by ViewSonic is expected to launch in 2023.
