Genshin Impact has proven itself as one of the best games over the past two years. Since its launch, miHoYo‘s hit title has steadily grown in both player base and revenue. According to recent stats, the game has made billions of dollars since release. It’s a free-to-play game, but if you’ve played Genshin Impact, you know how hard it is to resist the lure of spending money on character pulls to get the 5-star heroes you want.

Almost 9 out of 10 players end up spending money to meet their needs, since the game’s resources are quite limited. miHoYo has faced criticism for being stingy with event rewards. But recently, a player named Shahar surprised the community by showing he’s not only a dedicated fan but also very disciplined.

What earned Shahar respect isn’t some crazy skill. It’s that he logged into Genshin Impact every single day for 662 days straight, starting from the game’s launch on September 28, 2020, until now. That shows how much he loves and is committed to the game. Even more impressive, Shahar hasn’t spent a single cent on miHoYo’s game. He’s one of the rare free-to-play players in the Genshin community.

Thanks to his dedication, Shahar reached level 60, the highest level in the game so far. All the characters in his lineup were earned for free or by using Primogems gathered from events. His team even includes a rare 5-star character, Jean.

Shahar admits he’s often tempted to spend money but always manages to resist. Despite never paying, he thanks miHoYo for creating a game he still loves to this day.
