In Japan, salaried workers are often pictured rushing to work early, staying late, and squeezing into Tokyo’s crowded trains. But this story is very different.
To promote their company’s image, the CEO and President personally created funny dances and skits on TikTok. They even won awards for setting social media trends.
Daisuke Sakurai, President of Daikyo Security Company, said: “The number one reason we started a TikTok channel was back in 2018 when we couldn’t hire anyone. Ninety-nine security companies were competing for just one employee. The aging population means young people don’t want these kinds of jobs. We considered Twitter, YouTube, many options, but those platforms were already flooded with content. TikTok was the only social network still wide open.”
Gone are the images of big-bellied bosses. They’re not afraid to dance to music or transform into cartoon characters. The message behind these videos is simple: forget the rigid hierarchy typical of Japanese companies and unleash human energy.
Tomohiko Kojima, CEO of Daikyo Security, shared: “As our videos gained more interactions, people started recognizing me on the street. I hope this trend grows and helps create a new brand image for security work, which is often seen as tough, dangerous, and low-status.”
The company’s success has been recognized with a YouTube Silver Play Button and honors as a trendsetter on TikTok.
