Known for her striking looks and huge social media following, few realize that Japanese hot girl Mai Nanashima has battled insecurity for 25 years because of a seemingly small issue: excessive hand sweating.
Recently, the Japanese influencer surprised fans by posting hospital photos on her personal page, sparking concern. But instead of a serious health problem, Mai revealed she was admitted for surgery to treat her lifelong hand sweating condition, a source of anxiety since childhood.

Mai shared that her hands were almost always sweaty, no matter the weather.
This made her feel extremely self-conscious around others, especially in moments requiring handshakes or touch. She recalled a painful memory from elementary school when she accidentally touched a boy she liked. Instead of a normal reaction, he immediately showed disgust and teased her about her sweaty hands. That innocent childhood comment left a lasting emotional scar. Mai admitted she became obsessed with avoiding physical contact ever since.
“I still clearly remember how embarrassed I felt,” she said. The condition didn’t just affect her social life but daily routines too. Mai revealed she always carried a mini fan to cool her hands when outside. Even in winter, she kept the air conditioner on because the constant dampness on her hands made her uncomfortable.

As her fame grew and she attended fan events, the pressure increased. Mai worried people would be uncomfortable shaking her hand or getting close. She tried many treatments like antiperspirants, medical therapies, and Botox injections but saw little improvement. After years of hesitation, she finally chose surgery for a permanent fix.
Two years ago, Mai had surgery on one hand and recently completed the other. Upon waking, she was overwhelmed with emotion when she felt her hands dry for the first time like a normal person. “It feels like I’ve finally shed a lifelong burden,” she wrote on social media.

Mai Nanashima’s story quickly spread online, with many expressing empathy. While excessive sweating isn’t dangerous, it heavily impacts confidence and mental health.
Fans praised her bravery for sharing such a personal struggle that caused years of shame. For many, Mai’s openness not only helped her heal but also gave hope to others facing similar challenges.
