The 2022 World Cup is heating up and capturing the attention of football fans worldwide. Many Vietnamese fans traveled to Qatar to join the biggest football celebration on the planet. Among them is popular hot girl Lê Phương Anh (born 1997, Hanoi).
Recently, she shared a series of photos from the stadium stands and wrote: “Goodbye to Japan, Brazil, England, and Portugal who left the tournament early with all their efforts and tears. Waiting for France, Argentina, Morocco, and Croatia who are still fighting hard… so I can’t leave yet, idols… *sending love*”.

The funny thing is, every time Phương Anh wears a team’s jersey, that team ends up getting eliminated. Japan lost to Croatia in the round of 16, and Brazil, Portugal, and England all bowed out in the quarterfinals. This coincidence made her post go viral, racking up tens of thousands of likes.
Reached for comment, Phương Anh said she arrived in Qatar at the end of November and just returned to Vietnam recently. She watched many matches live at the World Cup, not just the four shown in her post. She explained: “It’s really just a coincidence. I wore jerseys of my favorite teams starting from the round of 16, and three out of four teams advanced. Then I saved the photos to post later, and it just so happened they all got knocked out in the quarterfinals.”
She added that she brought about 6 to 7 different team jerseys with her but didn’t get to wear them all: “Some days I watched two matches back-to-back, so I didn’t have time to change.”
When asked about the online reactions, she said she wasn’t upset or bothered: “I didn’t expect those photos to get so much attention since I’m not famous in sports. I just wanted to share my World Cup experience and keep the memories. I’m not bothered by people’s comments.”
Phương Anh isn’t a longtime football fan either. She only started following the sport seriously about two years ago. “I don’t have a favorite team because each team has players I like for different reasons. For tournaments with Vietnam, I only cheer for Vietnam and don’t pay much attention to other teams,” she shared.
With her cute looks, Phương Anh also attracted a lot of attention from fans at the stadium in Qatar. She called it one of her most memorable experiences: “During the Japan vs. Croatia match, so many people came up to take photos and interview me, but I didn’t understand what they were saying.”
Sharing more about her World Cup trip, the 25-year-old said she didn’t face any major difficulties. However, she walked an average of 13 to 15 kilometers daily to explore and move between outside areas and the stadium stands. “Before coming to Qatar, I worked out more to build stamina. I’m not sure if I’ll get another chance like this in the future, so I wanted to make the most of it,” Phương Anh said.
She didn’t reveal the exact cost but admitted the trip was quite an expensive one.
