Not long ago, TikToker Nờ Ô NÔ faced a massive backlash on social media for his awkward charity style, especially after saying “Hello, poor lonely old lady in the cold winter”. After the criticism, Nờ Ô NÔ apologized and promised to tone down his approach to charity work.
But just a short time later, he sparked controversy again by returning with his series “What Poor People Eat, Nờ Ô NÔ Feeds Them That.” In the latest clip, he helps someone struggling in Thailand.
“I happened to be walking down the street and saw a lady sitting next to a dog. What surprised me was the dog wasn’t sick. Even though the owner is poor, the dog never looks down on her. It was so cute that I decided to give 2,000 baht (about 1.4 million VND). I hope this mother and child won’t feel lonely in the cold anymore,” the TikToker said.
In the comments, opinions were mixed. Some felt the word “give” in the series title “What Poor People Eat, Nờ Ô NÔ Feeds Them That” and phrases like “giving 2,000 baht” sounded disrespectful and still carried a condescending tone. His repeated use of phrases like “lonely in the cold” also rubbed many the wrong way.
