Free Fire is one of the rare mobile games to surpass 1 billion downloads. Although it was originally developed by a Vietnamese team, after Garena published it, the game faced mixed reactions from players. Most criticism focused on Free Fire’s graphics.

However, recently after Forspoken launched, the online community has been doing a 180 and apologizing to Free Fire. The reason is that Forspoken’s graphics and gameplay have been heavily criticized, failing to live up to the hype as a major release of early 2023.
Of course, this is just a playful comparison. Even though Free Fire upgraded its graphics with the Free Fire MAX version, it still can’t compete visually with Forspoken, no matter how flawed Square Enix’s game might be.
Still, it’s undeniable that Forspoken is frustrating players with its “terrible” graphics. Many say that playing it on the next-gen PS5 feels more like a PS3 game, showing just how disappointing Forspoken’s visuals really are.
Back to Free Fire, the game was released for Android and iOS in December 2017 by Garena Studios and developed by 111dots Studio from Vietnam. It’s similar to other mobile Battle Royale games like PUBG Mobile and Clash Royale but is optimized for low-end smartphones. Each match features only 50 players and usually lasts about 10 minutes, much faster than PUBG Mobile, which helped Free Fire reach a huge global audience.
