Back in mid-December 2020, League of Legends: Wild Rift officially launched in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Riot’s first big event, the Pentaboom Showmatch, brought together top streamers from across the region. Misthy, Msuong, Đấng YM, Bé Chanh, and a female streamer made up the five-player team representing Vietnam in Wild Rift.
At that event, Vietnam’s Wild Rift team took the championship in a convincing fashion. Back then, Đấng YM, Msuong, and Bé Chanh were already well-known names in Arena of Valor, and many thought they would become the foundation of Vietnam’s Wild Rift streamer scene.
But more than two years later, Msuong and Đấng YM have returned to Arena of Valor. Bé Chanh did the same, even making two comebacks to professional Wild Rift play before scandals wore out VNG’s patience. In the end, Bé Chanh went back to Arena of Valor, closing a Wild Rift pro career that didn’t leave much of a mark.
The last female streamer on the team disappeared after a careless comment during a livestream led to her vanishing from the scene.
Only Misthy remains, not tied to Wild Rift but still the most successful name from that group, known for her creative and unique streaming ideas. The Pentaboom championship lineup has since gone their separate ways, and if not for looking back, few would remember this event today.
